[ eventually lunch break ends, and class is back in session.

they're sitting in japanese history class, and miku is usually a studious student! she's usually busy writing down notes and making sure she's understanding the content but the fact that ririan-tan hasn't handed anything in today bothers her

but this isn't the first time so why is it on her mind?

anyway, instead of furiously writing down what the teacher's talking about, she's writing furiously a note to be passed to her instead

so yeah she's happy to take the note, look it over, then just scribble something down on it and hand it back.]

[ when miku gets the note back, she looks up at the teacher -- they make really awkward eye contact for a second -- then gulps, looking down at the note. if that awkward eye contact didn't scream "miku hatsune is participating in suspicious activity during class" then wow, she must be a lot sneakier than she expected herself to be!

if lilian can hear her, miku kind of gasps reallyreallyreally quietly after reading the note, fumbles with her pen for a bit before she can manage to write a reply ]

O-Of course I did! What about you? [ except not really -- well, she had a bite of that sweet bread she mentioned about, so that totally counts, doesn't it? and she had some vegetable juice from the vending machine, too ]

[Lilian heard her - good hearing and all - then just sort of hmphs. Miku why so cute. Especially with that written stutter.

She does read the note over though, then sort of flinches herself. Right, food. That thing she needs to keep living. Uh. She had some crackers this morning, right? Maybe. Probably.]

'Course I ate. I'm not stupid. [She did eat. In the past tense. At some point in her life, she has eaten food. She nods then passes the note back to Miku, and when the teacher glances at her... Lilian just smiles and happily waves at her. Lilian gives no shits.]

[ oh jesus miku noticed sensei looking at lilian too oh no...

her goody goody two-shoes-ness is starting to get a little restless with this note-passing. she wants to get back to her notes but now that she's already started a conversation with lilian, she just can't drop it, right?

miku has to hastily glance around again before she starts writing.

[Lilian stares blankly at the emoticon, erases it, then writes her response.]

Don't worry about me. I can handle myself, you know? I've been skirting the line my whole life. [It sure does sound cool and rebellious when she puts it like that. She nods and hands the note back, clearly not even bothering to pay attention to what the teacher is saying.]

[ miku gapes at the erased emoticon, pouts a whole bunch for a good two minutes and then draws that same emote all over the paper they've been writing on. she flicks it over to lilian, aims for her head ]

Feel free to keep pouting, though. Lilian makes a little 'hmph' noise, then erases all the emoticons before writing her response.]

Maybe not, but it's always worked out. No reason for that to change, right? [And she... doesn't even bother acknowledging the 'rude.' At least class is almost over.]

Then sort of slumps down herself, trying to make it seem like she doesn't know Miku. There's like. Two minutes left in class. She can do this.]

she flicks a note over to lilian really quickly ]

[ the bell is ringing now, signaling the end of class

miku stands up and bolts out of the room ]

When class ends, Lilian lingers - four minutes or so, and then the teacher comes back in to tell her to stop loitering. She sighs, nods, and walks leisurely out of the room and down the halls. Maybe she can just skip the rest of the day, or something.]

[ miku returns with a can of vegetable juice and she just. downs it the minute she sits back in her seat. class starts again sometime soon and miku doesn't bother flicking notes to lilian anymore.

fastforward to the last bell of the day, and miku is on her way to the teachers' room to do some errands.

except she pasts a bullentin board with about twenty copies of the same poster on it that reads :

campus's best couples: miku hatsune and lilian yuki moises!!!!

and, without a sound, pivots on her foot and turns back to march back to the classroom.
